About Stephen’s Backpacks for Children in Need Society:
The Stephen’s Backpacks Society was formed in 2006 by Jim and Nancy McPhee in order to answer the vision of their 6 year old son. Stephen, who himself is diagnosed with autism, became aware that there were homeless children living on the street or in shelters. With the simple words “Mommy I need to help them!” Stephen became a voice for homeless children and started a story that has changed hearts. While the circumstances are difficult and often sad …this is really a story about, belief, optimism, taking action and delivering hope.
