Trans Canada Pipeline heading up the most innovative Keystone XL Pipeline which will produce thousands of jobs and meet the needs of Canada and the US for their oil supply. They are very conscious of the environment, safety standards and hundreds of ongoing projects.
This huge corporation is a giant in the industry and yet they still find time, effort and funding to help a little boy in Airdrie in his passion and fight to end family homelessness. This past six years Trans Canada Pipeline has supported Stephen’s Backpacks each year with a very generous donation. Their outstanding support makes it possible to reach even more homeless children across Alberta.
Dream out Loud Mom!!!
Stephen's backpacks would like to thank Investra for their incredible support this past three years. They have generously donated two warehouses making it possible for our son's passion to help over 21,000 children across Alberta, provide newly furnished homes to 25 families and provide thousands of new indoor and outdoor running shoes for children to start school.
We have moved all of the items to our garage in Airdrie and are very excited to move to the next chapter of Stephen's Backpacks. We have assisted more families through our Project Hope with the remaining furniture. Our Stephen, who is 11 yearsof age now in his wonderful innocense believes that this just means that we make 3000 backpacks from our home again this year, so Airdrie volunteers can still help. Stephen's Backpacks is committed to making as many Christmas backpacks as we can to help children to continue on with Stephen's dream to end family homelessness. We will have our July 1st Superstore Barbeque to support Footprints and will provide many new shoes for children to go back to school this fall.
We are very grateful for all of those hundreds of volunteers and corporations who have come alongside us to keep Stephen's dream alive. Stephen believes that God has a new plan and that is all we need to know! Stephen has never lost one ounce of his passion this past six years and as he reminded me once again this week..."Just Dream out Loud Mom!"
"We hope that our contributions to Stephen's Backpacks Society left an impact in the lives of the children who received the backpacks that we assembled."- Henry Wise Wood Students
Henry Wise Wood and 16 other schools among Calgary and Rockyview School Divisions made over 1/3 of the 3000 backpacks in our 2012 Christmas Backpack program.
Even though our backpack program only takes place for the month of December the effects are legacies! All the students involved through their schools in creating and fundraising backpacks have made such a difference in their own life by becoming leaders in their communities and in the lives of the children receiving backpacks not only in Christmas season but year round.
These Christmas gifts are also gifts of hope inspiring homeless and low income children to create hopes and dreams.
It may be one backpack but it is providing so much love, strength, and hope to the children creating these backpacks. To the children receiving these backpacks they feel incredibly blessed that someone that didn’t even know them created a gift of hope that lasts far beyond Christmas.
Thank you Henry Wise Wood High School for Dreaming OutLoud!
Over 500 homeless teens will feel the love from Starbucks as they kicked off Stephen's Backpacks yesterday!! 50 Employees filled all of these backpacks with hats, mitts, socks, schools supplies hygiene items, candy bags and much more. The best Starbucks coffee in Airdrie provided for our volunteers and an amazing spirit of Christmas love for children filled our humble warehouse in Airdrie.
Grade three; Ethan from Nose Creek Elementary joined in and made the first backpack of 2012 with Stephen. Ethan was asked to do a project about someone who is impacting our community and he has been very touched by the work that Stephen does and so he chose Stephen to talk about. You have an awesome heart Ethan and thank you for sharing it with us!!

Teens face several pressures today in their school years. How important it is for teens to be able to take care of their skin; especially if they suffer from Acne concerns. I have two teenagers and I don’t even think about purchasing quality products for them to care for their skin.
There are hundreds of teens who face huge challenges every day including being homeless. Skin care products would be a luxury for these kids. This year we are making over 500 teen Christmas backpack gifts. We are delighted that Arbonne has joined us to make our teen backpack gifts even more special with their donations of high quality natural face care products. Special thanks to Kerry for coordinating this with her consultants.
Contact your Arbonne representative today to donate a special baby hygiene pack, hygiene pack or teen facial care pack to Stephen’s Christmas backpacks. Thanks Arbonne for touching the hearts of many young people this Christmas.

Hard to Imagine
We are extremely busy getting pricing for mitts and hats and all sorts of other items needed to go in backpacks. We met with a wonderful volunteer last week who had made a whole bag of baby blankets and other special baby items. Even after helping children in need for the past six years I still find it hard to imagine that babies are without homes and their own cribs. But it is indeed a fact!
Stephen’s Backpacks would love to have your help with a donation of new Mittens and toques for children of all ages. Baby -18years. It is far too cold for children to go with our mitts or hats now.
You can Help!
Please drop them off at The Real Canadian Superstore in Airdrie starting Nov 1st or Cornerstone Church 1227 48th Ave in Calgary.
